Maritsa, a small farming village Maritsa, is situated between Kremasti and Psinthos. This tiny village will be of special interest, for those who wish to escape from the crowd and find their quilter place, to enjoy the Greek ness of this lovely place. Maritsa is a small village. Here the main street is centre of attraction, with its small Kafenion, the smallest on Rhodes, full of Greek men sipping coffee, playing tavli (backgammon) or twisting their worry belts (Komboloya) around their fingers. Here are several excellent tavernas. Outside the village you'll find two churches. The Agios Georgios church, built in the 15th century and the Agios Nikolaos church, with wall paintings from the 15th century. If you like walking, set off into the surrounding countryside - the shaded woodland is a welcome relief from the heat in summer. One footpath leads from the village to Psinthos - a three hour climb.
